At Garden Growing Leaders, your child is cared for by credentialed early childhood teachers with years of experience in Piedmont’s most respected programs — in a small, home-based setting built on curiosity, respect, and genuine attention to each child. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe every child is capable, creative, and full of ideas worth taking seriously.
Rather than relying on rigid instruction, we design learning experiences around each child’s real interests and questions, encouraging independence, critical thinking, and a lasting curiosity about the world.
Educators, not just caregivers
We are committed to building trusting partnerships with families. At the heart of our program are educators who bring both formal training in Early Childhood Education and years of hands-on experience — combined with a small group size that makes real individual attention possible, not just promised.
Learning made visible
Our learning space is filled with open-ended, natural materials that invite exploration and imagination. Children engage in hands-on projects and purposeful play while teachers observe closely, document their thinking, and build on their ideas — so families can see, in photos and words, exactly how their child is growing, not just take our word for it.
Spanish immersion, lived daily
We also offer full Spanish immersion: children live the language daily, through conversation, play, songs, and stories — not as a subject taught, but as how the day is spoken. Early childhood is a natural window for language acquisition, and children raised in true immersion often develop stronger cognitive flexibility and problem-solving skills.

My Story
Hello and welcome. My name is Teresa. I was born in El Salvador and grew up in a small, tight-knit family of four. Over twenty years ago, I came to the United States with a dream: to build a better future and pursue a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education.
While learning English as a second language, I completed four years at Contra Costa College, and along the way gained valuable hands-on experience working in early education settings in Berkeley, Piedmont, and Terra Linda. Over the years, I've built more than ten years of classroom experience guiding young children.
My path as an educator has deepened my passion for creating warm, respectful, and stimulating learning spaces — places where every child feels valued, confident, and inspired to explore. I believe wholeheartedly that every child is capable of learning, and that each one carries their own strengths, interests, and unique potential.
My journey as an immigrant, a student, and an educator has taught me the value of perseverance, lifelong learning, and embracing every opportunity to grow. Learning English as a second language gave me a deep, personal understanding of what our children experience in Spanish immersion — I know firsthand the confidence and the world that opens up when growing up between two languages. I'm deeply proud of how far I've come, and truly grateful for the chance to keep making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families.

It is a true privilege to introduce you to Garden Growing Leaders Childcare.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our program offers a warm, home-like environment where children are invited to explore, create, and grow through meaningful, hands-on experiences and a deep connection to nature — always honoring and following each child's unique pace of development.
Our days include outdoor exploration, creative experiences in the atelier, social-emotional learning, healthy nutrition, and rich immersion in the Spanish language. We offer year-round enrollment and full-time care from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
